One of my favorite cavity nesting birds is the Ash-throated Flycatcher we have out here in the West. Your Great Crested Flycatcher is very similar. A nice photo of him looking right at you.
It sure sounds like you had a super birding and bugging day! I love the photos of the dragonflies too. 61 species of avian fun sounds like an excellent day to me!

Oh you did a birdathon..cool havent done one yet. I see mr crested is trying to hide..good thing you caught him before he took off after a bug.

…I’ve never been able to photograph one of these guys. They are always hiding behind branches, twigs and leaves. You have such nice detail!
